The highly anticipated manga adaptation of Atlus' Metaphor: ReFantazio has launched, with chapter one now available for free reading on MANGA Plus! This collaboration between Atlus and Shueisha features artwork by Yōichi Amano (known for Akaboshi: Ibun Suikoden and Stealth Symphony).

This manga adaptation takes creative liberties with the game's storyline, notably altering the initial timeline. The first chapter introduces new events and restructures existing ones, including the protagonist's encounters with allies and the omission of a specific starting area. Importantly, the manga officially confirms the protagonist's name as Will, aligning with the game's default option. The next chapter is scheduled for release on February 19th, simultaneously with the Japanese version.

Developed by Studio Zero (headed by Katsura Hashino, the director behind the Persona series), Metaphor: ReFantazio follows Will and his fairy companion, Gallica, as they embark on a quest to save the prince of Euchronia. Following the king's assassination, the kingdom is thrown into turmoil, leading to an unprecedented election of a people's chosen leader. Will unexpectedly finds himself at the heart of this momentous event.
The game's phenomenal success is undeniable, achieving over one million copies sold worldwide on its launch day, surpassing even Persona 3: Reload's sales record. Critical acclaim followed, with Metaphor: ReFantazio garnering numerous awards, including Best RPG, Best Art Direction, and Best Narrative at the 2024 Game Awards.
Metaphor: ReFantazio is available on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Xbox Series X|S.
