Veteran actor Michael Douglas, who brought scientist Hank Pym to life in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has indicated he's likely finished with the MCU after four film appearances.
Douglas starred in all three Ant-Man movies, including 2023's critically panned Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, following his cameo in Avengers: Endgame.
As production begins on Avengers: Doomsday, fans are wondering if Hank Pym will make a final appearance. According to Douglas, that seems improbable.
"I don't think so," Douglas told Deadline when asked about a potential return. "I had the experience, and I was excited to do it."
Douglas has largely stepped back from acting, with his Marvel roles being his only recent major film work. During this time, he has remained active as a producer, with over a dozen credits to his name.
"I'd never done a green screen picture before," Douglas remarked about his Marvel work. "But I'm enjoying my hiatus and enjoying my life. It was overwhelming running the production company and acting at the same time."
Douglas previously expressed a wish for Hank Pym to meet his end in Quantumania, providing narrative closure and raising the stakes for Paul Rudd's Ant-Man. Marvel's creative team, however, chose a different path.

Quantumania's underwhelming box office has cast doubt on the Ant-Man franchise's future, though Rudd is confirmed to return for Avengers: Doomsday.
For the rest of the Ant-Man cast—Pym, Michelle Pfeiffer's Janet Van Dyne, and Evangeline Lilly's Hope Van Dyne—prospects look dim. Lilly announced in June 2024 she was taking a break from acting to focus on family, making a Wasp appearance in Doomsday equally unlikely.
So, what can audiences expect from Avengers: Doomsday? Earlier this week, an apparent set leak offered a glimpse of footage, hinting at the return of a surprising location from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
