GungHo Entertainment, creators of the crossover card battler Teppen, are venturing into a new realm with their upcoming retro-style RPG, Disney Pixel RPG, a collaboration with Disney.
This pixel art adventure, launching later this year, features a massive roster of iconic Disney characters recruitable for battles across multiple worlds. Gameplay blends battle, action, and rhythm-based challenges.
Players can create and customize their own avatars to fight alongside their favorite Disney heroes. While primarily an auto-battler, players gain direct control at key moments. The narrative centers around battling mysterious programs plaguing these pixelated Disney worlds.
A Retro Revival
This isn't GungHo's first foray into large-franchise crossovers. However, given Disney's extensive library, Disney Pixel RPG promises an even more expansive cast of characters. GungHo's experience managing large rosters makes them ideally suited for this project.
