Monster Hunter Wilds February Open Beta Features New Monsters and Content

Monster Hunter Wilds is gearing up for a second Open Beta, offering a fresh chance for players to experience the game before its official launch and introducing exciting new features. Here's how to join the hunt!

New Monster, New Hunt

Missed the first Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta? Fear not! A second Open Beta Test is scheduled for the first two weeks of February. Following the success of the initial beta, this second phase gives players another opportunity to dive into the action before the official release on February 28th. The announcement was made by producer Ryozo Tsujimoto in a video on the official Monster Hunter YouTube channel.

The Open Beta will run in two sessions: February 6th-9th and February 13th-16th. Available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, this beta includes new content not featured in the first test, notably the addition of the Gypceros, a familiar foe from the series.

Character data from the first beta is transferable to this beta and, subsequently, to the full game upon release. However, game progress will not carry over. Participating beta testers will receive in-game rewards: a decorative Stuffed Felyne Teddy (attachable to weapons or Seikret) and a special bonus item pack for a smoother early game experience.

"Many players missed the first beta, or wanted a second chance," Tsujimoto explained. "This second beta is in response to that feedback. Development on the full game continues at full speed." While a pre-launch community update video detailed upcoming improvements, these are still under development and won't be included in this beta.

Monster Hunter Wilds launches on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on February 28th, 2025. Get ready to hunt!
