A New Hub For Hunters
The showcase kicked off with a glimpse into the new endgame hub designed for hunting parties, aptly named the Grand Hub. This area is bustling with activities like feasting, arm wrestling, and enjoying nighttime performances by the Diva. A fun addition is the Barrel Bowling mini-game, where players can earn vouchers through various activities and unlock more rewards. To unlock the Grand Hub, reach Hunter Rank 16 and speak with Tetsuzan in Suja, the Peaks of Accord.
Mizutsune Arrives
A highlight of Title Update 1 is the introduction of the bubbly monster, Mizutsune. Known for its swift tail strikes and water jets, it promises challenging battles for seasoned hunters. Once you hit Hunter Rank 21 or above, head to the Scarlet Forest and speak with Kanya to start the quest. Triumph in this hunt, and you'll have the opportunity to craft new gear from Mizutsune.
Additional Hunts on the Way
An exciting Event Quest is set to introduce Arch-tempered Rey Dau, a fight that escalates the difficulty beyond typical Tempered battles. You'll need to be at least Hunter Rank 50 to take on this challenge, with new armor as a reward for those who succeed. Additionally, Zoh Shia will be available for repeated fights through new quests once you reach Hunter Rank 50, allowing you to craft new armor from this formidable foe.
Arena Quests
Speedrunners, rejoice! The Arena Quests offer a new challenge where hunters can compete for the fastest clear times. Both Challenge Quests and Free Challenge Quests will be available, with pendants awarded for participation and achievement. Access these quests at the counter in the new Grand Hub.
Change Alma's Outfit
Alma, the diligent handler, is getting a fashion upgrade. Players can now alter her attire through an appearance menu at camp, with one free outfit available. Completing a specific side mission will also allow you to customize her glasses.
More DLC is on the Way
Alongside Title Update 1, a mix of free and paid DLCs will launch. Some classic gestures from previous Monster Hunter titles will be freely available in the store, while others, such as those in the Cosmetic DLC Pack 1, can be purchased or are included with the Cosmetic DLC Pass or Premium Deluxe Edition. Expect new stickers, additional looks for Alma, and more.
More Event Quests and Seasonal Events
The game will see additional Event Quests and Seasonal Events, with the Grand Hub transforming during these special periods. The Festival of Accord: Blossomdance, starting on April 23, will feature pink cherry blossoms and new decorations. Capcom has confirmed that most previously available events and quests will return in the future.
The Roadmap Ahead
Here’s the rollout plan for Title Update 1 and its related content. U.S. players will see the update on April 3, followed by the Blossomdance event on April 22. The challenging Arch-tempered Rey Dau arrives on April 29, and by the end of May, additional features and a Capcom collaboration will be introduced.
Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 2
The showcase concluded with a sneak peek at Title Update 2, slated for this summer. While no specific date was given, a teaser image hinted at the return of the long-awaited Lagiacrus, the underwater leviathan, set to cause chaos on the surface.
