Nvidia Unveils RTX 50 Series GPUs with DLSS 4 and Multi-Frame Generation at CES 2025
Nvidia's CES 2025 keynote showcased the RTX 50 series GPUs, featuring groundbreaking DLSS 4 technology with Multi-Frame Generation, boosting FPS in 75 games. Initially exclusive to the RTX 50 series, this enhancement will significantly improve performance, as demonstrated by Cyberpunk 2077's frame rate jump from under 30 FPS to 236 FPS on the RTX 5090 with the feature enabled.
The RTX 50 series, codenamed Blackwell, builds upon the Ada Lovelace architecture with significant improvements to DLSS. Multi-Frame Generation promises a more substantial FPS increase compared to its predecessor. The flagship RTX 5090, boasting 32GB of GDDR7 memory, will launch at $1,999, while the RTX 5080, 5070 Ti, and 5070 will start at $999, $749, and $549 respectively.
While DLSS 4 and Multi-Frame Generation will initially be exclusive to the RTX 50 series, Nvidia confirmed that enhanced DLSS features, including Frame Generation, Ray Reconstruction, and DLAA, will be rolled out to older RTX 40 series cards via future driver updates. Furthermore, upcoming titles like Doom: The Dark Ages will also support Multi-Frame Generation and Ray Reconstruction upon release.
The impressive list of 75 games and applications with initial support for DLSS 4 and Multi-Frame Generation includes major titles such as:
- A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead
- Cyberpunk 2077
- Diablo 4
- God of War Ragnarok
- Hogwarts Legacy
- Indiana Jones and the Great Circle
- Marvel Rivals
- Microsoft Flight Simulator
- Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024
- Remnant 2
- Star Wars Jedi: Survivor
- Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl
- and many more...
A precise release date for the RTX 50 series in January 2025 remains unconfirmed. However, the combination of DLSS 4 and Multi-Frame Generation represents a significant leap forward for PC gaming performance, offering a compelling upgrade path for enthusiasts.
