Nintendo has officially announced the postponement of the retail release of the Alarmo in Japan due to stock issues. Dive deeper into this news and what it means for the future of the Alarmo.
Alarmo General Sale in Japan Postponed
Inventory Does Not Meet Demand
Nintendo Japan has confirmed the delay of the general sale for the Nintendo Alarmo alarm clock. Originally set for February 2025, the launch has been pushed back due to ongoing production and inventory challenges. Currently, there's no indication that this delay will impact stock availability in other countries, where the general public release is still scheduled for March 2025.
To manage the situation, Nintendo is introducing a pre-order system exclusive to Nintendo Switch Online subscribers in Japan. The pre-order window is slated to open in mid-December, with shipments expected in early February 2025. The specific start date for pre-orders will be announced soon.
Nintendo’s Very Own Alarm Clock
The Alarmo, launched globally in October, is not just any alarm clock; it's an interactive, gaming-themed device featuring iconic sounds from beloved Nintendo franchises like Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Pikmin, Splatoon, and RingFit Adventure, with plans for further sound updates.
The Alarmo's initial release saw it stocked in Nintendo's official stores worldwide and available online exclusively to Nintendo Switch Online subscribers. Its overwhelming popularity led Nintendo to halt new online orders and implement a lottery system. Physical stocks were also exhausted quickly at Nintendo stores in Japan and the New York Nintendo store.
Keep an eye out for further updates on pre-order details and the rescheduled general sales date!
