Orna Raises Awareness Through Gameplay

Orna, the fantasy RPG and GPS MMO by Northern Forge Studios, is hosting a unique in-game event, Terra's Legacy, to raise awareness about environmental pollution. From September 9th to 19th, players will battle pollution-themed enemies and contribute to real-world environmental cleanup.

Combating Pollution, Virtually and In Reality

Terra's Legacy merges virtual gameplay with real-world action. Players identify polluted locations in their surroundings via the Orna app. These locations are then transformed into in-game "Gloomsites," representing real-world environmental problems.

Players confront the Murk, a pollution-themed enemy, at these Gloomsites. Defeating the Murk helps raise awareness and contributes to the game's environmental message. Players can then plant virtual trees and grow Gaia apples in these same polluted areas. These apples can be used to customize characters and enhance their abilities, with other players able to harvest them as well. The more players participate, the cleaner both the virtual and real worlds become.
