Niantic has kicked off an exciting event for Pokémon Go players in Chile and India with the Wayfarer Challenge, offering a unique opportunity to influence the game's environment while earning exclusive rewards. From March 7th to 9th in Chile and March 10th to 12th in India, trainers can participate in this event by reviewing and approving Wayspot nominations on the Niantic Wayfarer platform. This effort not only helps introduce new PokéStops and Gyms to the game but also progresses toward special milestone rewards.
During the Wayfarer Challenge, players can nominate real-world locations such as landmarks, sculptures, and street art to become PokéStops and Gyms. Contributing to the review process helps reach community goals: if 5,000 nominations are resolved, participants will receive 20 Ultra Balls, a Star Piece, an Incense, and a Poffin. Should the community hit 10,000 approvals, the rewards escalate to 25 Ultra Balls, two Star Pieces, two Incense, two Poffins, and a Lucky Egg.
To join in, you must be at least level 37 in Pokémon Go and have a Niantic Wayfarer account. New users will need to complete the Wayfarer Orientation before reviewing nominations. Additionally, you must have played in Chile or India recently or set your Wayfarer Hometown or Bonus Location to one of these countries. To qualify for rewards, you need to review at least 50 nominations, and at least one milestone must be achieved.
Running concurrently from March 9th to 12th, the PokéStop Challenge event in Chile and India promises additional excitement. Players can earn 3x XP for first-time visits to new PokéStops, 3x Stardust from opening Gifts, and encounter increased Kecleon spawns. Event Field Research tasks will offer encounters with Eevee, while Timed Research provides opportunities to catch other Pokémon.
