Pokemon GO's Steely Resolve Event: Corviknight Arrives!
The highly anticipated Corviknight evolutionary line—Rookidee, Corvisquire, and Corviknight—finally debuts in Pokémon GO on January 21st during the Steely Resolve event! This addition significantly expands the game's Galar region Pokémon roster.
The arrival was subtly hinted at in December 2024's Dual Destiny Season loading screen, featuring Rookidee and Corviknight before their official announcement. This fueled player speculation until the recent reveal.
The Steely Resolve event runs from 10 am on January 21st to 8 pm on January 26th (local time). Alongside the Corviknight line's debut, players can expect:
- New Content: A Dual Destiny Special Research, fresh Field Research tasks, and a $5 Paid Timed Research.
- Bonuses: Charged TMs will allow Shadow Pokémon to unlearn Frustration. Magnetic Lure Modules will attract Onix, Beldum, Shieldon, and Rookidee.
- Increased Spawns: Increased wild encounters with Clefairy, Machop, Totodile, Marill, Hoppip, Paldean Wooper, Shieldon, Bunnelby, Carbink, and Mareanie (some with shiny possibilities).
- Raids: One-star raids featuring Lickitung, Skorupi, Pancham, and Amaura; five-star raids with Deoxys (Attack and Defense Forms) until January 24th, followed by Dialga; and Mega Raids featuring Mega Gallade and Mega Medicham (some with shiny possibilities).
- Eggs: 2km Eggs will contain Shieldon, Carbink, Mareanie, and Rookidee (some with shiny possibilities).
- Featured Attacks: Evolving specific Pokémon during the event will grant them unique attacks: Machamp (Karate Chop), Feraligatr (Hydro Cannon), Quagsire (Aqua Tail), Lickilicky (Body Slam), Corviknight (Iron Head), and Clodsire (Megahorn).
GO Battle Week: Dual Destiny (January 21st - 26th)
This concurrent event offers:
- Bonuses: 4x Stardust from win rewards (excluding end-of-set rewards), increased daily battle sets (from 5 to 20), and a free battle-themed Timed Research with Grimsley-inspired avatar shoes. Pokémon encountered through GO Battle League rewards will have varied Attack, Defense, and HP stats.
- Leagues: Master League, Great League, Ultra League, and Master League (with 4x Stardust bonuses for wins).
Beyond Corviknight:
The Steely Resolve event is just one highlight of a busy start to the year for Pokémon GO. January also features new Shadow Raids (including the return of Shadow Ho-Oh), Dynamax Raids with Kanto Legendary Birds, and the return of the Community Day Classic.
