Pokémon GO's New Year's Celebration: A Festive Extravaganza!
Get ready to ring in 2025 with Pokémon GO's annual New Year's event, running from December 30th to January 1st! This year's festivities promise themed bonuses, special Pokémon encounters, and exciting ways to start the new year.
Following the December 21st-22nd Community Day featuring returning Community Day Pokémon, the New Year's event kicks off a week later. One of the event's highlights is the chance to earn a whopping 2,025 XP for each Pokémon caught with an Excellent Throw! Enjoy the immersive atmosphere with festive decorations and celebratory fireworks illuminating the skies.
Expect increased encounters with special, costumed Pokémon! Keep an eye out for Jigglypuff with a ribbon, Hoothoot in a New Year's outfit, and Wurmple sporting a party hat – and don't forget the possibility of encountering their Shiny variants!
Raids are also receiving a festive makeover. One-star raids feature a snowflake-hat-wearing Pikachu, while three-star raids bring party-hat-adorned Raticate and Wobbuffet. Shiny rates for all three are boosted during the event.
