Pokémon TCG Pocket Adds Trading Feature and New Expansion This Month

Author : Hannah May 08,2025

If you've been eagerly awaiting the release of the upcoming trading feature for Pokémon TCG Pocket, your wait is nearly over. The much-anticipated trading feature is set to launch on January 29th, closely followed by the brand-new Space-Time Smackdown expansion on January 30th.

Trading in Pokémon TCG Pocket allows you to exchange certain rarities of cards with friends, mirroring the experience of physical card trading. To facilitate these trades, you'll need trade hourglasses and trade tokens, adding an authentic layer to this digital version of the iconic card game.

The Space-Time Smackdown expansion is aptly named and will introduce fan-favorite Pokémon from the Sinnoh region. This expansion includes two new digital booster packs featuring legendary Pokémon Dialga and Palkia. Alongside these legends, you'll find beloved Pokémon like Lucario, and the Sinnoh starters Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup. These cards will be available through the Wonder Pick feature as well as traditional booster packs.

This update promises to be a hit, not just for the addition of long-awaited Pokémon but also for the introduction of trading. There have been some concerns about how trading will function, but the developers have committed to continually refining this feature to ensure a smooth experience.
