Brutal hack-and-slash platformer Blasphemous is now out on Android. Launched first in September 2019 for PC and consoles, it’s a massively hit game. A grim and beautifully twisted Metroidvania, it’s developed by the Spanish studio The Game Kitchen.

The game lets you step into a world where darkness rules and every step feels like a fight against fate itself. The best thing about Blasphemous on Android is that you get all the DLCs right from day one. You can play with a gamepad or the touch controls.
Now, let’s dive into the story. In Blasphemous, you become The Penitent One, a lone warrior trapped in a relentless cycle of death and rebirth. You’re trying to break free from the curse known as The Miracle.
So, it’s you against a world soaked in a twisted version of religion and suffering. Cvstodia, the land you’ll explore, is a gothic world full of grotesque landscapes and hidden secrets. There are a lot of mysteries to uncover and the world will still have more surprises in store.
The story is as layered as the gameplay. Cvstodia is home to tormented souls with their own tales of sorrow and redemption. Some will help you; others will make you question your decisions. The game’s dark lore is quite intriguing and rewards you with multiple endings depending on the choices you make.
The Haunting Melodies and Atmospheric Tunes Are a Perfect Match for the Game’s Eerie, Oppressive Vibe
The game draws heavily from history, art and religion and weaves them into its hauntingly intricate narrative. The soundtrack fits perfectly while the combat and boss battles are intense and entertaining.
The hero of the combat system is your weapon, the Mea Culpa sword. And the execution animations are worth mentioning because of their pixel-perfect, gore-soaked art. Equip relics, rosary beads and prayers to fine-tune your build.
Touch control customization is already in the works for Blasphemous on Android. The Game Kitchen is also adding a full-screen option to ditch the pesky black borders.
