GoldenEye fans, rejoice! IO Interactive has officially announced that their highly anticipated James Bond game, Project 007, will be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2. According to IO Interactive's website, the game will introduce players to an entirely new narrative within the Bond universe, offering a fresh take on the iconic spy.
In Project 007, players will have the opportunity to step into the role of the world's favorite Secret Agent and embark on a journey to earn their 00 status. This game promises to be the first-ever James Bond origin story, setting the stage for an exciting new adventure.
Hakan Abrak, the head of IO Interactive, shared insights with IGN back in October about the development of this original story. "What's exciting about that project is that we actually got to do an original story. So it's not a gamification of a movie," he explained. Abrak emphasized that the game aims to create a new beginning for Bond, with aspirations of building a significant trilogy in the future. "It's a new Bond. It's a Bond we built from the ground up for gamers. It's extremely exciting with all the tradition and all the history there is there together to work on this together with the family of creating a young Bond for gamers; a Bond that the gamers can call their own and grow with," he added.
While an exact release date for Project 007 remains undisclosed, fans can stay updated on all the latest announcements from the recent Nintendo Direct here. Keep an eye out for more information as IO Interactive continues to develop this promising new chapter in the James Bond saga.
