As Rainbow Six Siege celebrates its tenth year, Ubisoft has unveiled an exciting new chapter with the introduction of Siege X. Announced during today's presentation, Siege X is poised to transform the game in a manner similar to how CS2 revolutionized CS:GO. Set to launch on June 10, Siege X will be free-to-play, opening the doors to a broader audience of tactical gamers.
Key Changes in Siege X:
New Mode: Dual Front – This innovative 6v6 mode blends attack and defense operators into a dynamic gameplay experience. Teams compete to capture enemy zones and strategically plant sabotage devices. The battlefield is segmented into multiple areas, with three zones assigned to each team and a central neutral zone. To keep the action intense, players respawn just 30 seconds after being eliminated.
Advanced Rappel System – Enhancing tactical movement, the new rappel system allows players to navigate both vertically and horizontally using ropes, adding a new layer of strategy to positioning and surprise attacks.
Increased Environmental Destruction – The Siege X trailer highlighted expanded destructible elements within the game environment. Players can now interact with and destroy fire extinguishers and gas pipes, creating new tactical opportunities and hazards.
Reworks for Five Popular Maps – Five beloved maps are set to receive major updates, refreshing the gameplay and keeping the environments challenging and engaging for both new and veteran players.
Graphical & Audio Enhancements – Ubisoft is not just stopping at gameplay mechanics; they're also rolling out significant visual and audio upgrades to enhance the overall immersion and experience of Rainbow Six Siege.
Improved Anti-Cheat & Toxicity Measures – Recognizing the importance of a fair and welcoming community, the developers are refining the anti-cheat system and implementing new measures to combat toxic behavior, ensuring a better gaming environment for everyone.
Ubisoft has also announced a closed beta for Siege X, which will be available over the next seven days. Players interested in getting a sneak peek at these changes can participate by watching Siege streams, offering a unique opportunity to experience the future of Rainbow Six Siege firsthand.
