- Red Dead Redemption, the iconic open-world western, is finally arriving on mobile devices.
- This isn't limited to a single platform; it’s coming to all iOS and Android users.
- Netflix subscribers can also grab the game completely free through Netflix Games.
If you had told me ten years ago that we’d one day be playing Red Dead Redemption on our phones, I would have laughed. However, Rockstar Games has officially confirmed that their acclaimed open-world western is coming to iOS and Android, with a mobile release date set for December 2nd!
Originally released in 2010, Red Dead Redemption marked the revival of Rockstar’s earlier title, Red Dead Revolver. By blending the familiar open-world action formula from Grand Theft Auto with a compelling spaghetti western narrative, it instantly became a classic.
In Red Dead Redemption, you take on the role of John Marston, a former outlaw turned bounty hunter. Your mission is to capture your old friends in exchange for your freedom. While many argue that Red Dead Redemption 2 refined the series further, my counterpoint is simple: does the sequel feature a single-player DLC where you battle zombies? I don’t think so!

The best part about this release is that, unlike other highly anticipated mobile debuts such as Cult of the Lamb and PowerWash Simulator, Red Dead Redemption isn’t locked to a specific subscription service. This launch brings the game not only to next-gen consoles but also directly to iOS and Android devices on December 2nd.
Netflix Games subscribers certainly get an excellent deal, as they can download and play without any additional cost. Regardless of whether you’re playing on console or mobile, you’ll be experiencing the latest, most enhanced version of this modern masterpiece!
