Respawn Cancels Unannounced Multiplayer Shooter Set in the Titanfall Universe

A former Respawn Entertainment employee revealed on LinkedIn that an unannounced project has been canceled after years in development. No reason for the cancellation was given.

Last year, journalist Jeff Grubb reported the project wasn't a mainline Titanfall entry, ruling out Titanfall 3. Respawn assembled a dedicated "experimental team" of multiplayer shooter specialists for its development.

This isn't the first Respawn project to be canceled. An arcade shooter codenamed Titanfall Legends was shut down last year.

The Titanfall series is celebrated for its unique blend of fast-paced action and mech combat, allowing players to battle as pilots or control powerful Titans. Since its 2014 debut, the franchise has garnered a strong following for its innovative gameplay, combining parkour elements with dynamic team-based battles.

Respawn is currently concentrating on Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, the third installment in the Star Wars Jedi series, and a new Star Wars strategy game developed in partnership with Bit Reactor.
