Developer Nosniy Games has provided detailed patch notes for this update, which, while shorter than some previous updates, still promises to keep players engaged. The focus of Update 9 is clearly on these two major additions, setting the stage for future enhancements.
The Gunblade, a unique addition to the Rivals arsenal, serves dual purposes as both a ranged rifle and a close-combat blade. This versatility could give players a strategic edge in battles, particularly when used on the newly introduced Bridge map. Located in Seoul and designed by @GreatGuyBoom, the Bridge map offers a compact, concrete setting that pushes players into immediate close-quarters combat, with minimal obstacles like walls and a bus.
Interestingly, the patch notes for Rivals Update 9 do not list any bug fixes, balance changes, or quality-of-life improvements. The developers have opted to concentrate solely on the new map and weapon, although they did make minor adjustments to the skins of the Demon Shorty and Demon Uzi, and renamed several other items. Nosniy Games has assured fans that these omissions are temporary, with more comprehensive updates planned for the upcoming Ranked feature.

The Demon Shorty & Demon Uzi skins have been slightly modified. The Hexxed Flare Gun skin, Hexxed Candle skin, and Hexxed wrap have been renamed to Vexed Flare Gun, Vexed Candle, & Vexed respectively.
