After two failed launches and months of eager anticipation, *Rune Slayer* has finally arrived, and it's nothing short of spectacular. Whether you're new to MMORPGs or a seasoned veteran, diving into *Rune Slayer* can be a thrilling yet daunting experience. Fear not—we've put together a comprehensive guide to help you navigate your early adventures in this captivating world.
Rune Slayer Beginner Tips
Here are some essential tips we wish we'd known from the start to make your journey smoother and more enjoyable.
Do Not Randomly Attack Other Players
When we first heard about *Rune Slayer*'s full-loot PvP system, we were braced for chaos. However, our fears were largely unfounded. **In *Rune Slayer*, you don't lose anything upon death**, not even to other players. You simply respawn and continue your journey.
However, there's a catch: **attacking other players puts a bounty on your head**. The more players you kill, the larger your bounty grows, and consequently, **the more items you'll drop if you die**. Essentially, you can turn the game into a full-loot scenario by attacking others, but it's a risky move. Therefore, **we strongly advise against attacking other players** unless you have a solid reason or a group of allies to back you up.
Craft Bags ASAP
You'll quickly discover that both your **bank space and inventory are quite limited**. With a cap of 50 items, your inventory can fill up faster than you might expect. To combat this, **the game allows you to craft bags**. You can equip up to two bags at once, starting with the **Cotton Bag**.
To craft a Cotton Bag, **gather Cotton from north of Wayshire and Flax from the south**—just watch out for the mobs in the southern areas. Each Cotton Bag adds an extra 10 slots to your inventory, so make crafting these a priority.
Your Pets Don’t Actually Die
There's a common misconception that your tamed pets die when their health reaches zero. This isn't the case. **When your pet's health hits zero, it can't be summoned for 5 minutes**. You can **check the cooldown by holding T**. Once the cooldown is over, simply hold T again to bring your pet back into action.
Bonus Tip: To **quickly heal your pet**, store and unstore it at the stable master. You have one free slot, so make use of it.
Grab All the Quests (Yes, All of Them)
*Rune Slayer* is packed with quests, many of which are typical "Kill 10 X" missions seen in countless MMORPGs. They're not particularly memorable, and you might not read them thoroughly. To streamline your progress, **accept every quest you encounter**. This includes grabbing everything from the Job board. Completing multiple quests simultaneously is far more efficient than tackling them one by one. You might even find that you can knock out several quests at the same time without realizing it.
Craft Everything at Least Once (Even Things You Don’t Need)
While it's crucial to craft items you need, don't overlook crafting items you might not immediately require. **If you have spare materials, use them to craft various items**. Crafting new items for the first time often **unlocks more powerful crafting recipes**. For instance, we unlocked a range of Iron Armor recipes after smelting our first Iron Ore. So, be adventurous with your crafting and unlock new possibilities.
Join a Guild
Although *Rune Slayer* is solo-friendly, you'll eventually encounter **tougher enemies** that are better handled in groups. Many of these challenging foes, especially those with hefty health bars, are designed for group combat. **Joining a guild** is the easiest way to find teammates. You can either announce your need for a guild in the general chat or use the official *Rune Slayer* Discord server to find a suitable group.
And that's all there is to it! Enjoy your adventures in *Rune Slayer*, and if you haven't already, be sure to check out the *Rune Slayer* Trello and Discord for more tips and community interaction.
