The Sims franchise is marking its 25th anniversary with a bang, and while Electronic Arts has unveiled its celebratory plans, exciting surprises may still be in store.
A recent Sims teaser subtly referenced the first two games in the series, sparking widespread fan speculation about a potential return of these classics. Although unconfirmed, Kotaku sources suggest a possible announcement later this week: digital PC releases of The Sims 1 and 2, complete with their original expansion packs.
The possibility of console releases remains open, and the timing of such a launch is yet to be determined. Given the potent nostalgia factor, it's highly improbable that EA would forgo the lucrative opportunity.
The original Sims 1 and 2 are now quite dated, and legitimate avenues for playing them are extremely limited. Their resurgence would undoubtedly thrill countless devoted fans.
