Celebrate 25 Years of The Sims with Legacy Collections!
EA and Maxis are throwing a fantastic anniversary party for The Sims franchise's 25th birthday! To mark the occasion, they've re-released The Sims and The Sims 2 on PC via Legacy Collections. These are available individually or bundled together for $40 in "The Sims 25th Birthday Bundle."
Both collections include nearly all expansions and stuff packs. The only apparent omission is The Sims 2: IKEA Home Stuff pack. However, each collection boasts bonus content: The Sims gets a "Throwback Fit Kit," and The Sims 2 receives a "Grunge Revival Kit."
This marks a significant return for these classic titles. The Sims was originally only available on disc, making it inaccessible to many modern players. While The Sims 2 had a brief resurgence with an Ultimate Collection on Origin, that version was later removed. These Legacy Collections ensure all four main Sims games are readily available digitally.
Our original reviews awarded The Sims a 9.5/10 and The Sims 2 an 8.5/10. Despite the series' evolution, the originals remain captivating due to their charm, simplicity, challenging gameplay, and historical significance.
