The previous generation Sony XM4 was already exceptional, but the XM5 introduces crucial enhancements in noise cancellation and comfort. It now boasts a second processor and double the number of microphones dedicated to eliminating ambient noise. The redesigned earcups fit more snugly, improving passive noise isolation. The noise-canceling capabilities are notably superior to those of the XM4 and nearly any other headphone in its price range.
The Sony WH-1000XM5 also features a sleeker redesign with a new headband adjustment mechanism.
