Squid Game: Unleashed is celebrating Season Two of the hit Netflix show with a massive content update! Get ready for new characters, a new map, exciting challenges, and exclusive rewards for watching the new episodes.

Released just before the holidays, Netflix made the surprising move of offering Squid Game: Unleashed for free to everyone, even non-subscribers. This new content update, starting January 3rd, is designed to keep players engaged and entice new users with enticing rewards for watching the show!

What's in store for existing players? The update introduces a new map inspired by the Mingle mini-game from Squid Game Season Two. Three new playable avatars will also debut throughout January: Geum-Ja, Yong-Sik, and Thanos (the rapper!).

Geum-Ja and Thanos will each have special in-game events on January 3rd and 9th respectively, offering unique ways to unlock them. And here's the best part: watching episodes of Squid Game Season Two earns you in-game Cash and Wild Tokens! Watching up to seven episodes unlocks the exclusive Binni Binge-Watcher outfit!

Here's the January update schedule for Squid Game: Unleashed:

  • January 3rd: The Mingle map launches alongside Geum-Ja. Participate in the Dalgona Mash Up Collection Event (until January 9th) by completing Mingle-inspired mini-games and collecting Dalgona tins.
  • January 9th: Thanos enters the game with his own recruitment event, the Thanos’ Red Light Challenge (until January 14th). Eliminate players using knives to earn this character.
  • January 16th: Yong-Sik joins the roster as the final new character in this wave of additions.

Squid Game: Unleashed's free-to-play model and reward system for Netflix subscribers represents a significant strategy shift for Netflix in the gaming world. The bold move of free access, combined with incentives for watching the show, cleverly supports both the game and the original series.
