Player choices in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl significantly impact gameplay. The mission "Just Like the Good Old Days" follows either "To the Last Drop of Blood" or "Law and Order," both concluding with an escape from the SIRCAA.
Talk to Professor Lodochka at Wild Island
Proceed to the mission marker on Wild Island to locate Professor Lodochka at Quite's Camp. A priority objective will emerge: eliminating mercenaries marked on your map. These enemies are easily located.
Strong equipment is advisable, as further encounters await. Eliminate all mercenaries to access Lodochka. An optional objective, "Activate the Ventilation System," will then become available.
Activate the Ventilation System
Consult your map to find a fuse. After retrieving it, a new marker will appear, leading to the engineering rooms. Be prepared for an invisible enemy.
Navigate the shelter to the engine room. Use the fuse to restore power to the ventilation system, facilitating mission progression. While this optional objective doesn't provide unique rewards, it simplifies the remaining mission.
Find the Signal Source
Consider acquiring better weapons before proceeding. Locate the cave entrance near the water. Navigate the caverns westward, descending and overcoming obstacles. Use a broken pipe to reach higher cave levels.
Find a large cone-shaped spire; the emitter is located at the marked point nearby. An invisible enemy will again pose a threat on your return journey. Finally, report back to Professor Lodochka to complete the mission and unlock "Hornet's Nest."
