STALKER 2's updated PC system requirements are here, and they're intense. Prepare for a challenging experience, both in-game and for your hardware.
STALKER 2 PC System Requirements: High-End Hardware Needed
4K and High Frame Rates Demand Top-Tier PCs
With launch just a week away (November 20th), the final system specs for STALKER 2 have been revealed. Even minimum settings require a capable machine, while higher settings demand significantly more powerful hardware.
The updated system requirements are detailed below:
OS | Windows 10 x64 Windows 11 x64 | |||
---|---|---|---|---|
RAM | 16GB Dual Channel | 32GB Dual Channel | ||
Storage | SSD ~160GB |
While minimum specs are manageable, achieving smooth 4K gameplay at high frame rates necessitates a high-end gaming PC. "Epic" settings, in particular, are incredibly demanding, potentially surpassing even Crysis' notorious 2007 requirements.
Storage needs have also increased, from 150GB to 160GB. An SSD is strongly recommended for optimal loading times – crucial in a game where quick reactions are essential for survival.
Upscaling technologies like Nvidia DLSS and AMD FSR will be included to improve visual fidelity without sacrificing performance. While DLSS support is confirmed, the specific FSR version remains unannounced.
Software ray tracing is confirmed, but hardware ray tracing, while being experimented with, is unlikely to be available at launch, according to Lead Producer Slava Lukyanenka in a Wccftech Gamescom 2024 interview.
Launching November 20, 2024, STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl promises a demanding, open-world, non-linear single-player experience where player choices significantly impact the narrative and outcome.
