Sequel Trilogy star Oscar Isaac's confirmed appearance at Star Wars Celebration 2025 in Tokyo (April 18-20) has ignited speculation about a potential return of his character, Poe Dameron. The announcement, made via the official Star Wars Celebration Instagram, follows Daisy Ridley's 2023 Celebration appearance and subsequent confirmation for a new Star Wars film.
The Sequel Trilogy concluded in 2019 with The Rise of Skywalker, leaving Isaac's feelings about future Star Wars involvement somewhat ambiguous. While initially expressing reluctance, stating in 2020 a return would only happen if he "needed another house or something," he later told Variety in 2022 that he was "open to anything," indicating a shift in perspective.
Isaac's past criticisms of Disney, specifically their rejection of a romantic storyline between Poe and Finn (John Boyega's character), add another layer to the intrigue. Boyega also voiced past frustrations with Disney and the franchise but has since expressed openness to future roles.
