Stellar Mercenaries has just launched an exhilarating new upgrade with the Jupiter Expansion, nearly doubling the game's content and bringing the battle to the largest planet in our solar system. This vertical-scrolling action arcade space shooter continues to thrill with procedurally generated missions, customizable ships and weapons, as you strive to become the solar system's most feared mercenary.
What’s New in the Jupiter Expansion of Stellar Mercenaries?
The expansion transforms Jupiter and its iconic moons—Ganymede, Io, and Europa—into dynamic battlegrounds. Each moon presents unique challenges: Ganymede with its desolate landscapes, Io with its volcanic activity, and Europa with its icy dangers. Jupiter itself is fraught with intense storms, making it a formidable arena.
New to the fray are two factions: the Jovian Empire, a formidable military force aiming to control the region, and the Pirate Council, a lawless coalition of renegades. The expansion introduces 50 new missions with diverse objectives, including hyperspace hunting, piracy, escort duties, and train defense operations.
Players can now command six new ships: the Raider, Goblin, Mako, Boxer, Lightning, and Skybreaker. Additionally, the arsenal expands with new weapons like the Hyper Velocity Mortar, Plasma Seeker, EMP Rockets, Mauler Cannon, Electron Beam, and Neutron Beam.
New Hazards, Shields, and More
The Jupiter Expansion brings Tier 4 shields and armor into play, alongside new hazards such as asteroid fields, elite enemy squadrons, and the formidable Pacifier. Enemy mercenaries have evolved, introducing new classes like Nightmare, Riot, and Warhawk, adding layers of challenge and strategy to your missions.
Enhancing the immersive experience, the expansion includes 14 new music tracks and introduces a new side missions system. Dive into the expanded world of Stellar Mercenaries by checking it out on the Google Play Store—there’s a universe of new content waiting to be explored!
