Following the success of Helldivers 2, Arrowhead Studios has hinted at a new game

Arrowhead Studios, fresh off the triumph of Helldivers 2 (released last year to rave reviews), is currently developing a new, high-concept game. Creative director Johan Pilestedt took to social media to announce the project and solicit fan input.

The response was diverse, ranging from a Smash TV remake to Star Fox-inspired titles. Pilestedt confirmed that a Smash TV remake has been internally discussed, and also hinted at a Star Fox-esque "rail game."

While specifics remain under wraps, Arrowhead's community engagement is evident. The success of Helldivers 2, a standout title of 2024, sets a high benchmark for their next venture.

Helldivers 2 recently received a substantial update, boosting player numbers significantly on PS5. The "Omens of Tyranny" expansion, unveiled during the 2024 Game Awards, appears to be a hit with players.

This update has delighted fans, introducing the much-requested Illuminate enemy faction, along with a 4x4 Fast Recon Vehicle and new urban warfare maps. Furthermore, with a rumored Killzone crossover on the horizon, Helldivers 2—and by extension, Arrowhead Studios—looks poised for continued success in 2025.
