The Pokémon Company addresses ongoing shortages of its highly anticipated Prismatic Evolutions expansion for the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG). Acknowledging widespread supply issues impacting global availability, including the US, the company issued a statement expressing gratitude for fans' patience. This is the first official recognition of the problem since the expansion's November 2024 announcement and pre-orders.
The statement confirms that reprints of Prismatic Evolutions products are currently underway and will soon be distributed to licensed vendors. While no specific release date for these reprints was given, the company assures fans that they are working at maximum capacity to resolve the shortages. The cause of the shortages was attributed to "high demand," avoiding direct mention of scalping, a common fan complaint.
Beyond reprints, additional Prismatic Evolutions products are slated for release throughout 2025, including:
- A Mini Tin and Surprise Box (February 7)
- A Booster Bundle (March 7)
- An Accessory Pouch Special Collection (April 25)
- A Super-Premium Collection (May 16)
- A Premium Figure Collection (September 26)
Players can also acquire Prismatic Evolutions cards in the Pokémon TCG Live mobile game starting January 16th via the Battle Pass. The Pokémon Company reiterated its commitment to addressing the situation and ensuring fans can access the new expansion.
