The highly anticipated pre-alpha playtest for The Hidden Ones, the action brawler based on Hitori No Shita: The Outcast, has been delayed. Originally slated for next week, Tencent Games and MoreFun Studios have pushed the playtest back to February 27th, 2025. This two-month extension will allow the developers to refine the game and ensure a superior player experience, as announced on the game's official website.
A Deeper Dive into The Hidden Ones
Set within the rich Hitori No Shita universe, The Hidden Ones blends Eastern philosophies like Taoism and Yin Yang with modern martial arts combat. The game emphasizes character understanding, philosophical depth, and mastery of unique abilities.
Players will experience a cinematic storyline unfolding the lives of the Outcasts, battling increasingly difficult bosses throughout multiple levels. These bosses are directly linked to chapters within the overarching martial arts saga and evolve alongside the player's progress.
Multiple game modes are included. "Duel" mode offers intense player-versus-player combat, while an "action roulette" mechanic allows players to temporarily utilize other characters' skills during fights. A challenging "trial" mode features a series of escalating boss battles, demanding mastery of diverse characters and fighting styles.
