The excitement around the potential remake of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 continues to build, and the latest development comes straight from Singapore's rating board. They've officially rated "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4" for a 2025 release, adding more fuel to the rumor fire. This eagerly anticipated collection is rumored to include remakes of the next two mainline games in the iconic Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series, and it's set to launch on a wide array of platforms, including Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
While there's still no official word from Activision on this project, a tantalizing countdown timer found in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 hints that some Tony Hawk's Pro Skater-related news is on the horizon. The timer is set to reach zero on March 4, 2025, which could be the day fans finally get the confirmation they've been hoping for.
Tony Hawk himself has been dropping hints that something big is in the works. During a chat on Mythical Kitchen, he revealed that he's been in talks with Activision again and teased that they're working on a project that "fans will truly appreciate." This comes on the heels of the critically acclaimed Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 remake from 2020, which set the stage for what many thought would be an inevitable follow-up with 3+4.
However, the path to a 3+4 remake hasn't been straightforward. After the success of the 1+2 remake, the original plan was to move forward with 3+4, but things changed when Activision merged the remake's developer, Vicarious Visions, into Blizzard in 2021, shifting their focus to Blizzard projects. Tony Hawk shared in a 2022 Twitch livestream that Activision had been searching for another studio to take on the 3+4 project but hadn't found a suitable replacement for Vicarious Visions. "They were trying to find somebody to do 3 + 4 but they just didn’t really trust anyone the way they did Vicarious," Hawk explained, noting that other pitches from different studios didn't meet Activision's expectations.
With the Singaporean ratings board listing Activision as both the publisher and developer for the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 remake, the big question remains: who is actually developing this highly anticipated title? Fans won't have to wait long to find out, as the countdown timer in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 points to an announcement on March 4, next week. Until then, the anticipation and speculation will only continue to grow.
