Getting Started as an Archer in Rune Slayer
If you're a seasoned archer, feel free to skip this section, but if you're new to the class, this is for you. As an Archer, your most effective strategy is to maintain a safe distance from your enemies and let your arrows do the talking. While Archers can deal significant damage, they're not built to withstand it.

Archers don medium armor, which offers more protection than light armor but less than heavy armor. Unlike magicians or priests who wear light armor and have protective spells, Archers don't have such defenses. Instead, they depend on their allies and Pets to absorb damage.
Tamed Pets are essential for Archers. Initially, your pet options may be limited, but as an Archer, you'll eventually gain access to a variety of unique pets, making you one of the most powerful classes in Rune Slayer.
How to Get Beast Tamer in Rune Slayer
At Level 30, all classes in Rune Slayer choose a subclass. For Archers, you can specialize as either a Sharpshooter or a Beast Tamer. Choose Beast Tamer as soon as you reach Level 30.

Currently, there's no compelling reason to opt for the Sharpshooter subclass. Although the idea of firing multiple arrows at once is appealing, you'd miss out on the Beast Tamer's key advantage: the Alpha Predator passive ability. This skill lets you tame beasts that no other class can, such as Bears, Adult Spiders, Crocodiles, and notably, Mud Crabs. With stronger pets, Beast Tamers are so resilient and powerful that they can even tackle many group activities solo.
