Welcome back to another installment of our update series, "How is Ubisoft today?" Amidst the ongoing challenges faced by Ubisoft's upper management, there's a silver lining to report. One of the persistent issues that has been plaguing the gaming community has now been resolved.
Ubisoft has successfully tackled the compatibility issues that arose between several Assassin's Creed titles and the 24H2 update for Windows 11. Since the fall of 2024, players have been unable to enjoy games like Assassin's Creed Origins and Assassin's Creed Valhalla on the new operating system. The solution came through the release of new patches, which were announced on the Steam pages for both Origins and Valhalla.
The gaming community has responded positively to these updates. Comments under the patch notes are filled with gratitude rather than criticism, acknowledging that the issue stemmed from Windows rather than Ubisoft's development team. Although the recent reviews for both games are still categorized as "Mixed," this fix is a step in the right direction for Ubisoft.
Looking ahead, there's optimism surrounding the upcoming release of Assassin's Creed Shadows. Its release has been rescheduled to March 20, giving Ubisoft additional time to enhance the game's quality. This move is critical, as the launch of Assassin's Creed Shadows could very well dictate the future trajectory of the company.
