Nightmare Crownless is a formidable new Nightmare version of the Overlord-class Echoes in Wuthering Waves. This variant boasts enhanced Havoc DMG and Basic Attack DMG, making it an ideal choice for specific characters looking to boost their performance.
Like other Nightmare Echoes in Wuthering Waves, Nightmare Crownless can be obtained from its designated overworld spawn point. However, before you can engage with this elite spear-wielder, you must first complete the Ruins Where Shadows Roam quest and an additional task. Here's a comprehensive guide to unlocking Nightmare Crownless.
Ruins Where Shadows Roam Quest Guide
The Ruins Where Shadows Roam quest is unique in Wuthering Waves as it doesn't start from an NPC or an interactable object. Instead, you can initiate it through the Exploration Progress menu for the Penitent's End region in Rinascita. Access this by opening your map and selecting the compass icon in the upper-left corner, adjacent to your current location's name.
This quest is closely tied to the Quest of Faith, an optional mission that requires you to defeat four enemies in designated areas of Penitent's End. Begin by heading to the Resonance Beacon across the broken bridge at Wailing Ascent. Once there, interact with the prompt near the circular arena by the beacon to trigger a battle against a Questless Knight, similar to those encountered in the Silver Moon? Crimson Moon? quest.
To successfully defeat these knights, you must lure them close to a lit Macabre Torch within the arena. These torches can be reignited by coaxing Fae Ignis enemies to strike them. Exercise caution and avoid using powerful skills near the torches, as they might be extinguished accidentally.
How to Unlock Nightmare Crownless in WuWa
After successfully completing both the Ruins Where Shadows Roam and Quest of Faith, the next step is to locate all four Dream Patrols within Penitent's End. While it's not mandatory to complete these challenges, doing so will grant you additional resources and Monnaie in Wuthering Waves. The locations of these Dream Patrols are depicted in the image above. Once all patrols are found, Nightmare Crownless will become visible on your map, appearing in the ruins north of Penitent's End.
It's important to highlight that Nightmare Echoes require Enhanced Absorption charges, which greatly enhance the drop rate of Echoes. You receive only 15 of these charges per week, so it's wise to use them judiciously if you're planning to enhance multiple characters.
