A Glimpse into "The Invincible Iron Man"
Edwards revealed that the game, tentatively titled "The Invincible Iron Man," was in development following the release of Genepool Software's X-Men 2: Wolverine’s Revenge. His Twitter post included the game's title card, the Genepool Software logo, and several gameplay screenshots. A subsequent post showcased original Xbox gameplay footage, including the startup screen and a tutorial segment set in a desert environment.
Activision's Decision to Cancel

Despite positive fan reaction to the revealed material, Activision ultimately canceled "The Invincible Iron Man" just months into development. Genepool Software subsequently closed, leaving Edwards and his team unemployed. While Activision never publicly explained the cancellation, Edwards suggested several possibilities, including delays in the related film, dissatisfaction with the game's progress, or the potential involvement of another developer.
A Unique Iron Man Design

Many commenters noted the game's Iron Man design, which differed significantly from Robert Downey Jr.'s later MCU portrayal. The design more closely resembled the character's appearance in the early 2000s "Ultimate Marvel" comics. Edwards stated he was unaware of the reasoning behind this design choice.
Edwards promised to release more gameplay footage, but at the time of this writing, that footage has yet to be shared. The unveiling of this canceled game offers a fascinating look at a lost chapter in Iron Man and video game history.
