The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2 premiere date revealed! IGN Fan Fest 2025 exclusively announced the season's debut: May 4, 2025.
IGN showcased an exclusive clip and interviews with Scott Gimple (Chief Content Officer), Lauren Cohan (Maggie), and Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Negan).
Cohan offered insight into Maggie's mindset entering Season 2: "It's not all sunshine and roses," she revealed, highlighting the relatable family tensions amidst the apocalyptic backdrop. Navigating teenage children, Ginny and her son, adds a layer of complex domestic drama to their survival struggles.
Morgan discussed Negan's precarious position, now under the control of The Dama and The Croat: "He's in a tough spot," Morgan explained, hinting at Negan's schemes to regain power. He also fondly reminisced about Lucille, his iconic barbed-wire-wrapped bat, noting its sentimental value (though not for Lauren!).
Gimple teased the season's conflict: "No single big bad," he stated, promising a complex, politically charged narrative with shifting power dynamics and eventual physical confrontations.
IGN also premiered the opening minutes of Season 2's first episode.
