When it comes to mecha, Japan reigns supreme as the birthplace of the genre, with its two iconic subgenres: real robots and super robots. Now, My.Games' War Robots is joining forces with legendary designer Kunio Okawara for an exclusive in-game collaboration!
Best known for co-designing the legendary Gundam, Okawara's creations have become synonymous with the real robot genre. His work has graced countless series and even made appearances in blockbuster films like Ready Player One.
As part of this partnership, players will soon be able to pilot an all-new creation by Okawara—the SWORD Unit 190. Developed in-universe by the DSC Corporation, this unique mecha comes complete with custom-designed optional drones and plasma guns. While it's currently unavailable, the SWORD Unit 190 will make its debut during the upcoming MECHA Raider S.W.O.R.D event, running from May 20th to June 1st. This event promises a nostalgic homage to the classic real robot genre.
It’s easy to see why War Robots chose Okawara for this collaboration, and even if you’re unfamiliar with his previous work, this fresh design is bound to add a striking new element to your arsenal.
