Monster Couch has announced the official release date for the highly anticipated Wingspan: Asia Expansion. The expansion will be available on all digital platforms simultaneously on June 16, 2025. This marks the third major expansion for the digital version of the popular board game, following the European and Oceania editions.
A New Ornithological Journey Is About to Take Flight
The latest Wingspan expansion highlights the diverse and colorful bird species of Asia. Players will encounter a range of birds, each with their own distinct characteristics and strategic advantages. The expansion enriches gameplay with 90 new bird cards.
In addition to avian additions, the expansion includes 13 new bonus cards. Two of these are specially created for Automa, the solo play mode. Just like the rest of the game, each card comes with carefully researched facts and descriptions of the species.
One of the standout features of Wingspan: Asia Expansion is the Duet Mode. Tailored for two players, this mode introduces a shared Duet Map. Players compete by placing tokens to occupy habitat spaces and complete rotating round-based objectives.
What’s the Visual Style of Wingspan Asia?
Simply put: gorgeous! Four all-new backgrounds showcase breathtaking landscapes from across the continent. Players can also choose from eight new avatars reflecting diverse regional cultures and aesthetics. A new trailer reveals these visuals—watch it below.
Each gaming session is enhanced by four new ambient music tracks composed by Paweł Górniak. For newcomers, the expansion also includes a redesigned tutorial.
Wingspan: Asia Expansion will launch at the same time on Android, iOS, Steam, GOG, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation. The price is set at $11.99 on all platforms.
