WoW Anniversary Currency: Good News for Forgotten Players

Summary

  • World of Warcraft will automatically convert any remaining Bronze Celebration Tokens into Timewarped Badges in Patch 11.1.
  • The conversion rate is set at 1:20, meaning players will receive 20 Timewarped Badges for each unused Bronze Celebration Token.
  • Players are advised to log in after the patch's release to benefit from the automatic conversion of their tokens.

World of Warcraft is set to automatically convert any remaining Bronze Celebration Tokens from the 20th anniversary event into Timewarped Badges with the release of Patch 11.1. This update ensures that players who did not spend all their tokens before the event's conclusion will receive 20 Timewarped Badges for every Bronze Celebration Token still in their characters’ inventories.

The 20th anniversary event of World of Warcraft, which spanned 11 weeks, offered players the opportunity to earn numerous Bronze Celebration Tokens. These tokens were used to purchase the revamped Tier 2 sets and various anniversary collectibles. Any additional tokens could be exchanged for Timewarped Badges, the currency used in Timewalking events.

As the event concluded, World of Warcraft is assisting players with leftover Bronze Celebration Tokens. According to a forum post by WoW community manager Linxy, any characters with these tokens in their currency tabs will see them automatically converted to Timewarped Badges at a 1:20 ratio upon their first login after Patch 11.1's release.

World of Warcraft Bronze Celebration Token Auto-Conversion in Patch 11.1

Once the 20th anniversary event ended on January 7, Bronze Celebration Tokens lost their utility, with Blizzard confirming they would not be used in future events, even for the revamped Tier 2 sets. This automatic conversion ensures that players who did not use all their tokens will not be left with an obsolete currency entry.

While Patch 11.1's release date remains unconfirmed, it is anticipated to launch around February 25. This date aligns with the end of the second Plunderstorm event (January 14 to February 17) and the Turbulent Timeways event (ongoing until February 24), fitting well with Blizzard’s recent update schedule.

Unfortunately, the conversion of Bronze Celebration Tokens will occur after the second Turbulent Timeways event, which runs through all Timewalking campaigns and offers ample opportunities to spend Timewarped Badges. However, since the rewards obtainable with Timewarped Badges will remain available, players can save their badges for future Timewalking events.
