How To Get Paradisan Ladder in Avowed

There are five primary ways to acquire Paradisan Ladder in Avowed: purchasing from Merilyn the merchant, foraging while exploring, earning it as a side quest reward, breaking down existing items, and downgrading Hylea's Talon.

Merylin the Merchant

Merilyn, located in South Paradise (see map above), offers the fastest way to obtain Paradisan Ladder. She typically stocks five units at 150 coins each. She also sells the Many-Hued Doublet and the Common Grimoire of Elements, both of which yield additional Paradisan Ladder when broken down (two units each). Note that her inventory doesn't seem to replenish.

Paradisan Ladder plants appear in the wild and sometimes in cities like Paradise. The plant icon on your mini-map (red circle in image above) indicates their presence. While other plants may resemble it, actively searching your immediate surroundings while completing quests provides a steady, free supply.

Side Quests

Avowed incorporates Paradisan Ladder into its difficulty curve by rewarding it through side quests. For example, the early quest "Escape Plan" often yields two units of Paradisan Ladder among other crafting materials. Completing side quests offers a supplementary method for gathering Paradisan Ladder while earning experience and other rewards.

Breaking Down Items

You can deconstruct items in Avowed to recover their base materials. This includes Paradisan Ladder from higher-tier items previously upgraded with it. For instance, dismantling a Common Sword upgraded with Paradisan Ladder will return some of the herb. Check merchant inventories for unique items with Paradisan Ladder listed in their breakdown details.

Downgrading Hylea's Talon

Once you reach Emerald Stair and acquire Hylea's Talon, you can downgrade each unit into three Paradisan Ladder at your party camp workbench. Navigate to the "Crafting" tab, then select "Downgrade" from the "Upgrade Materials" section. This is ideal for quickly upgrading a different weapon type if you've already established your primary build.

Now that you know the various methods for obtaining Paradisan Ladder, discover when *Avowed* takes place in the Pillars of Eternity timeline and whether it features multiplayer or is solely single-player.
