Indie game developer Sander Frenken has unveiled his upcoming RTS-lite title, Battledom, currently in Alpha testing. This project, a spiritual successor to his 2020 hit Herodom, represents roughly two years of part-time development. Frenken describes Battledom as closer to his initial vision for Herodom.
Battledom offers dynamic RTS combat, allowing players to freely maneuver units across the battlefield. Players directly target enemies and manually operate siege weaponry for devastating attacks. Strategic formations enhance the gameplay experience.
Players use in-game currency to recruit units, initially equipped with basic weapons and no armor. Customization is key; units can be outfitted with various weapons and armor pieces, each impacting stats like range, accuracy, defense, and attack power.
Resource gathering and crafting are central to Battledom. Players collect resources like wood, leather, and coal to craft items at specialized village locations, such as the blacksmith or magician's workshop.
Frenken's previous success, Herodom, enjoys a 4.6 App Store rating. This tower defense game features over 55 collectible heroes, 150+ units and siege weapons, and historically-inspired battles. Progression unlocks new character customization options and farm additions.
iOS users can participate in the Battledom Alpha via TestFlight. For updates and further information, follow Sander Frenken on X (formerly Twitter) or Reddit. His other games are available on the App Store.
