Just days after its launch, Black Ops 6 has revealed that two beloved classic modes are joining the game soon. The announcement was accompanied by details from a recent update that resolved various player-reported issues since release.
Black Ops 6 Introduces New Mode, Classic Map, and Ongoing Post-Launch Support
Infection and Nuketown Arrive This Week
"Launch was just the start. The Infected are arriving tomorrow, with Nuketown joining the fun on Friday. Let’s go!" Treyarch, the developer behind Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, shared on Twitter (X), confirming the return of the popular multiplayer mode and iconic map this week. Following last week's release, the game will add the classic "Infected" party mode on Friday. In this mode, players must survive against opponents controlled by zombies.
Nuketown, another staple from the Black Ops series, arrives a few days later starting November 1. First introduced in Call of Duty: Black Ops (2010), Nuketown is a multiplayer map inspired by 1950s American nuclear test sites. Before Black Ops 6 launched, Activision promised regular post-release content updates, including additional modes. The game debuted on October 25 with 11 standard multiplayer modes, including four without Scorestreaks and a Hardcore mode featuring reduced player health.
Black Ops 6 Update Resolves Post-Launch Problems, More Fixes Incoming
Additionally, Black Ops 6 rolled out its first update over the weekend, fixing issues in both multiplayer and Zombies modes that emerged after the game's release. XP and weapon XP rates have been boosted in Team Deathmatch, Control, Search & Destroy, and Gunfight. "Our team is continuously monitoring XP rates across all modes to ensure players progress as intended, no matter where they play," Activision stated. Here are some of the key fixes included:

・Loadouts . The last-selected loadout now correctly highlights when opening the in-game Loadouts menu.
・Operators. Fixed an animation issue with Bailey in the Operators menu.
・Settings. The ‘Mute Licensed Music’ setting now works as expected.
⚫︎ Maps:
・Babylon. Patched an exploit allowing players to exit the intended play area on Babylon.
・Lowtown . Fixed an exploit that let players escape the intended play area on Lowtown.
・Red Card . Resolved an exploit enabling players to leave the play area on Red Card and improved overall stability on the map.
・General. Addressed stability problems during in-game interactions.
⚫︎ Multiplayer:
・Matchmaking. Fixed an issue that sometimes delayed replacing players who left a match.
・Private Matches. Private Matches will no longer end if one team has no players.
・Scorestreaks. Resolved a bug where the Dreadnought’s incoming missile sound looped continuously.
Developers Treyarch and Raven Software have confirmed that remaining issues, such as dying upon selecting a loadout in Search & Destroy, will be addressed soon.
