Treyarch is celebrating 115 Day with a flurry of announcements for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies, including the unveiling of a brand-new map: The Tomb. This January 15th celebration offers a comprehensive blog detailing all the zombie-themed surprises coming soon. The highlight? The Tomb, a sun-baked new Zombies map debuting with Season 2 on January 28th, adding another thrilling location to the Zombies universe just weeks after Season 1's Citadelle des Morts.

Treyarch's story summary reveals that following the harrowing events at Citadelle des Morts, Weaver, Grey, Carver, and Maya heed Gabriel Krafft's final instructions, leading them to an excavation site in search of the Sentinel Artifact. These catacombs, built upon ancient burial grounds dating back to 2500 B.C.E., lay undisturbed for centuries until the early 1900s—and what lies beneath may be far more profound than anyone imagined. The Tomb's mystery is further deepened by its connection to a British archaeologist, Sir Archibald Fotherington-Smythe.
Gameplay-wise, The Tomb offers a similar experience to Liberty Falls, the vibrant, smaller map from Black Ops 6's October launch. Expect tighter play spaces emphasizing replayability and the discovery of numerous hidden Easter eggs. Treyarch also teases a reimagined Wonder Weapon, drawing inspiration from past titles, and the return of a beloved iconic SMG. More details on these are yet to be revealed.
Season 2 also promises significant quality-of-life improvements, including highly requested community features. Players can now track up to 10 Calling Card and 10 Camo challenges across both Zombies and Multiplayer. A co-op pause option is added for Zombies, allowing the party leader to pause mid-match. Zombies and Multiplayer HUD presets will be separated, and players will be able to rejoin Zombies matches with their loadouts if disconnected.

To celebrate 115 Day, Black Ops 6 players enjoy double GobbleGum earn rates and double player, weapon, and Battle Pass XP until 10 AM PT on January 21st. Treyarch also shared impressive statistics for the story-driven Directed Mode, revealing players have logged over 480 million hours in Black Ops 6 Zombies. The team notes that Directed Mode's success, more than doubling the average Main Quest completion rate (from 3.38% to 8.23%), demonstrates its effectiveness in guiding new players and expanding the Zombies community.
The voices of the Zombies characters in The Tomb will be of particular interest to fans, following Activision's acknowledgment of recasting some beloved characters due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike.
