Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 2 Arrives January 28th
Treyarch has officially announced the launch date for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 2: Tuesday, January 28th. This marks the end of Season 1, which boasts a remarkable 75-day run, making it one of the longest seasons in Call of Duty history.
While specifics on Season 2's content remain under wraps, anticipation is high. The extended Season 1, though successful in launching Black Ops 6 as the biggest Call of Duty game to date (based on its first 30-day player count), saw a recent player dip, possibly attributed to ongoing issues with cheating in Ranked Play and server stability. The community hopes the new season will revitalize the game.
Season 2 Launch Confirmed
The Season 2 launch date was confirmed in a recent Black Ops 6 update. While addressing Zombie mode fixes in the January 9th patch notes, Treyarch mentioned some adjustments postponed until the next season, directly confirming the January 28th release. A detailed blog post unveiling the full Season 2 content is expected soon.
Season 1 delivered a substantial update, introducing numerous multiplayer maps, modes, weapons, and events to Black Ops 6. Warzone players also experienced a significant overhaul with the integration of Black Ops 6's movement system, new weapons, gameplay enhancements, and the Area-99 Resurgence map. The nostalgic return of fan-favorite maps like Nuketown and Hacienda (from Black Ops 4) further bolstered the season's success.
Looking ahead, Treyarch has hinted at more classic map remasters for Season 2. Associate Creative Director Miles Leslie previously stated that no Black Ops map is excluded from potential remastering, although the studio prioritizes original content.
