CS2 incoming: Halo Infinite Set to Launch S&D Extraction Mode with Deep Economic Mechanics

Halo Infinite, while perhaps not dominating the headlines like some competitors, continues to receive dedicated content updates. A recent addition is S&D Extraction, a new competitive game mode designed to offer players a strategic and refreshing experience.

Inspired by the tactical gameplay of Valve's Counter-Strike, S&D Extraction puts a unique spin on the classic formula. Two teams of four players face off: attackers aiming to plant a device at a specific point, and defenders working to prevent them. Teams switch roles after each round, with the first team to win six rounds claiming victory.

The mode incorporates a robust economic system. Players earn in-game currency by completing objectives, using it to purchase equipment at the start of each round. Pricing dynamically adjusts based on player performance, ensuring a constantly evolving meta. All purchased gear disappears at the end of each round.

Item costs reflect their effectiveness and potential impact. Expect cheaper options early in the match, escalating prices mid-game, and potentially even more expensive gear later on for players who strategically save their earnings. A respawn mechanic will also be available for a price, adding another layer of strategic decision-making.

S&D Extraction is scheduled to launch in Halo Infinite in 2025, promising a dynamic and highly competitive experience for longtime fans and newcomers alike.
