Genshin Impact's Arlecchino receives a quality-of-life update in Version 5.4: a new swap animation and a visual indicator.
Recent leaks reveal Arlecchino, a popular Pyro DPS character, will sport a revised swap animation in Genshin Impact's upcoming Version 5.4 update. This follows her introduction in the Fontaine arc where she served as a primary antagonist. As one of the Eleven Fatui Harbingers, her prominence within the game's narrative continues, even as the storyline shifts towards Citlali and Natlan's Archon, Mavuika.
The leak, originating from Firefly News and shared on the Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit, highlights a new visual indicator appearing above Arlecchino's model after a character swap. While the indicator's exact function remains unconfirmed, community speculation points towards a display of her Bond of Life (BoL) levels. This Fontaine-exclusive mechanic acts as a reverse shield, depleting the BoL bar instead of increasing HP upon healing. The indicator would thus help players manage Arlecchino's BoL and her Pyro infusion Passive Effect.
This adjustment, while not directly boosting her damage output, significantly improves usability, especially during complex battles demanding simultaneous attention to multiple targets and status effects. Arlecchino's multiple post-release adjustments are unusual for Genshin Impact characters, likely due to the complexity of her kit. Despite this complexity, she remains a community favorite and a top-tier Pyro DPS.
The timing of this QoL change is noteworthy, coinciding with Arlecchino's scheduled appearance on a limited-time banner in Version 5.3, confirmed during the recent Special Program. Launching around January 22nd, this banner will feature Arlecchino alongside the Champion Duelist, Clorinde.
