Marvel Rivals' Invisible Woman Exposes Potential Bot Problem
The newly released Invisible Woman in Marvel Rivals is unintentionally revealing what many players suspect: an influx of bot opponents. For weeks, players have debated the presence of AI opponents in their matches, believing developer NetEase Games might be using them to maintain player engagement. The recent Season 1 update, introducing Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman, has only intensified this discussion.
A Reddit user, barky1616, posted a video showcasing an unexpected tactic using Invisible Woman's invisibility. The video shows Sue Storm turning invisible and inexplicably blocking the path of several enemy players simply by standing in front of them. The opponents don't attempt to circumvent her until she becomes visible again. This unusual behavior has fueled speculation about the prevalence of bots in the game.

The theory is that these AI opponents lack the awareness to recognize the obstruction. While replicating this strategy may yield varied results, the video itself has sparked considerable debate within the Marvel Rivals community, raising concerns about the potential scale of the bot problem.
NetEase has yet to officially comment on the alleged use of bots. IGN has contacted NetEase for clarification.

Despite the bot controversy, players are generally enjoying Season 1's content. The first half of the Fantastic Four is now playable, with The Thing and Human Torch slated to arrive soon. Alongside the new characters, Season 1 also introduced significant balance changes and a crackdown on mods, both of which have generated further player discussion. The reception to Reed Richards, in particular, has also been a topic of conversation.
