In the thrilling world of *Phasmophobia*, confronting the most dangerous ghosts often requires the use of Cursed Possessions, which can be as perilous as the spirits themselves. Among these, the Voodoo Doll stands out as a tool that, when used correctly, can significantly aid in your ghost-hunting endeavors.

The Voodoo Doll is often considered one of the safer Cursed Possessions to use in *Phasmophobia* due to its favorable risk-reward ratio. Despite changes from game updates, it remains a valuable option for players.
The primary function of the Voodoo Doll is to compel the ghost to perform actions that provide evidence, which is achieved by inserting pins into the doll one at a time. This method is particularly useful when dealing with elusive or silent ghosts, as it can prompt them to produce evidence like EMF5 readings or Ultraviolet prints.
There are 10 pins available to insert into the doll, each capable of triggering these actions. However, users must be cautious as each pin insertion reduces their sanity by 5%. Inserting all pins can deplete up to 50% of your sanity, significantly increasing the risk of ghost hunts.
The most critical risk is the pin located in the doll's heart. Inserting this pin, which happens randomly, will decrease your sanity by an additional 10% and immediately initiate a Cursed Hunt. During a Cursed Hunt, the ghost will spawn near you and the hunt will last 20 seconds longer than usual.
Despite these risks, the Voodoo Doll can be a worthwhile tool for gathering evidence if you are well-prepared and understand the potential consequences.

Cursed Possessions, commonly referred to as "Cursed Objects," are unique items in *Phasmophobia* that can randomly appear on any map. Their availability can be influenced by difficulty settings or if you're playing in Challenge Mode.
Unlike regular equipment, which helps locate the ghost and gather evidence with minimal risk, Cursed Objects serve as shortcuts or cheats to manipulate the ghost, but at a higher risk to your character. The safety of using these objects varies based on their specific abilities, and it's up to you and your team to decide whether to engage with them. There's no penalty for choosing not to use them, and only one Cursed Possession will spawn per contract, unless you adjust settings in Custom mode.
The game features seven different Cursed Objects:
- Haunted Mirror
- Voodoo Doll
- Music Box
- Tarot Cards
- Ouija Board
- Monkey Paw
- Summoning Circle
