Niantic is launching a special end-of-year Catch-a-thon event in Pokémon Go, giving players another chance to catch Community Day Pokémon and earn exclusive rewards, including shiny versions of featured creatures. This event is a perfect opportunity to catch up on any missed Community Days.
The Catch-a-thon will run for two days: Saturday, December 21st, and Sunday, December 22nd, from 2 pm to 5 pm local time.
Featured Pokémon:
- December 21st: Bellsprout, Chansey, Goomy, Rowlet, Litten, and Bounsweet.
- December 22nd: Mankey, Ponyta, Galarian Ponyta, Sewaddle, Tynamo, and Popplio.
During the final ten minutes of each hour, players will have increased encounter rates for Porygon, Cyndaquil, Bagon, and Beldum. The event also boasts 2x XP for catching Pokémon and 2x Stardust, plus many other rewards.
This year has been huge for Pokémon Go, with major updates like Gigantamax Pokémon. This Catch-a-thon serves as a fitting end-of-year celebration. While the timing might seem close to the holidays, dedicated trainers will undoubtedly appreciate this final community event.
