Capcom's ambitious space adventure, Pragmata, made a major return at The Game Awards today—and after multiple delays, it finally has a release date: April 24, 2026.
Alongside the date announcement, a free gameplay demo is now live on Steam. Equally noteworthy, the previously confirmed platforms (PC, PlayStation, and Xbox) have been joined by the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, marking a key win for the new console.
The story centers on an astronaut named Hugh, stranded in space with the help of a friendly AI known as DI0367—whom he calls Diana. She appears as a young girl who rides on Hugh's back while he battles hostile alien-machines, hacking them to expose their weaknesses. Together, they challenge a lunar station AI determined to block Hugh’s return to Earth. Based on the latest trailer, it seems the duo may even explore a city resembling New York—apparently located on the moon.
Pragmata's journey has seen several twists over the years. Originally revealed in 2020 with a mysterious trailer and a planned 2022 launch, it was later postponed to 2023 before entering another hiatus. Earlier this year, it reappeared at Sony's State of Play looking significantly more polished, and we went hands-on with it at Gamescom. Shortly after, we spoke with the developers about how the game's themes of artificial intelligence intersect—or don’t—with real-world debates on the technology.
